Illegal or Non-Permitted Activities

Any event that violates federal, state, or local law; fireworks shows without a permit; unlicensed gambling.

Discriminatory or Hate-Based Content

Events that promote or perpetuate discrimination, harassment, or hate toward a protected class.

Violence, Weapons, or Safety Hazards

Militia rallies, weapons expos, or events lacking an approved public-safety plan.

Obscene, Sexual, or Adult-Only Entertainment

Exotic-dance revues, pornography screenings; 18-plus nightlife promotions.

Partisan Campaigning or Lobbying

Rallies endorsing a specific candidate, party, or referendum; petition drives.

Religious Worship / Proselytizing

Regular worship services or evangelism events. (Interfaith cultural festivals are generally acceptable.)

Purely Commercial Promotions

Product launches, sidewalk sales, “grand-opening” ads with no public-interest component.

Private or Closed-Invitation Functions

Weddings, birthday parties, corporate retreats—anything not open to the general public.

Fundraisers for an Individual

Personal GoFundMe benefits; events must support a recognized 501(c)(3) or similar entity.

Tastings or “beer bus” tours focused on consumption rather than community benefit.

Events Located Outside Douglasville/Douglas Co.

Unless the event demonstrably serves local residents and space permits.

Missing contact info, ambiguous dates, or repeated postings.

Unauthorized use of trademarks, copyrighted material, or personal data.

  1. Limited Public Forum
    The online calendar is a limited public forum. The City reserves sole discretion to approve, edit, reject, or remove any listing at any time.
  2. Submission Lead Time
    • Submit at least 14 calendar days before the event date.
    • Reviews occur during normal business hours (Mon–Fri, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.). Late or incomplete requests may be delayed or declined.
  3. Required Information
    • Event title, description (≤150 words), full street address, start/end times, sponsoring organization.
    • Public contact name, phone, and e-mail (anonymous listings are not accepted).
    • Links to ticketing or registration pages, if applicable.
  4. Disclaimer of Endorsement
    Posting does not imply City sponsorship or endorsement. The City does not verify external links or guarantee event accuracy.
  5. Permit & Compliance Reminder
    Events on public property still require the appropriate special-event, park, or street-closure permit(s). Proof may be requested before posting.
